Medicine/Pediatrics Ambulatory Selective

Catalog description
The MED-PEDS Ambulatory Selective will prepare students for care of adult and pediatric patients in an ambulatory setting. Students will work in an outpatient setting supervised by a physician with med-peds training. Students will independently obtain history and exam, document encounters in the medical record, communicate directly with patients, and give appropriate anticipatory guidance to patients. Students will learn about billing and coding, insurance issues, and meaningful use. Prerequisite(s): PEDS 5000 >= C and GMED 5000 >= C Lecture Hours: 10 Lab Hours: 10 Repeatability: May be repeated for credit one time.
