Catalog description
Understand and function as part of a clinical team in treating both healthy and special needs patients in a hospital setting. Rotate through various departments within the Children’s Hospital of Georgia (CHOG) and the Dental College of Georgia (DCG), including pediatric medicine, hematology/oncology, craniofacial clinic, and general anesthesia. Become familiar with the treatment considerations for each special group of patients. Gain exposure to essential skills such as venipuncture, learn to interpret commonly ordered medical tests, and develop competence in maintaining a child patient’s airway in the operating room setting.
