Catalog description

National, state, and local health care policy impacts health care at the level of delivery. Health care delivery models and re-imbursement mechanisms will be analyzed from a policy perspective. The relationship between policy and patient care will be examined in areas such as distribution of limited resources, health care disparities, diffusion of technology, and current issues in health care. Students will critically examine a clinical issue, how health policy impacts outcomes and identify strategies to advocate for policy reform. Lecture Hours: 2 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
