Advanced Anatomy, Physiology & Pathophysiology for Nursing Anesthesia II

Catalog description

This graduate-level course provides an advanced examination of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the renal, hepatic, musculoskeletal, immune, endocrine, and gastrointestinal systems as they relate to nurse anesthesia practice. Students will integrate foundational knowledge of these systems with disease mechanisms and their implications for anesthetic management. Emphasis is placed on complex pathophysiologic processes and their related anesthesia considerations to optimize anesthesia care for patients with coexisting diseases. By synthesizing knowledge of systemic disease states and their anesthetic implications, this course fosters preparation for clinical decision-making and anesthesia management in high-risk patient populations.
