Catalog description

Course presents theoretical and clinical concepts applicable to psychopharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics in advanced nursing practice. Focus is on evidence-based pharmacological treatments for clients with mental health/substance use disorders, and integration of mental and physical health assessment in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating individual responses to psychopharmacological interventions. The course emphasizes evidence-based approaches to patient education about specific diagnoses and medications. Special programs related to various age groups are considered. Lecture Hours: 2 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
