Catalog description

The course will present theoretical concepts basic to group interventions in Mental Health-Psychiatric nursing practice. Theories of group therapy will be analyzed with strong emphasis on group roles, and therapeutic techniques appropriate to the functional level of groups. Community aspects, including the client’s sociocultural, ethnic and economic backgrounds will be integrated throughout the course. Prerequisite(s): NURS 7180 Lecture Hours: 2 Contact Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
