Anatomy and Physiology for Nurse Anesthetists

Prerequisite: Admission to the nursing anesthesia program or permission of the instructor. Effect of anesthesia on normal adult physiology is explored in-depth. Emphasis is placed upon those systems particularly affected by the administration of anesthesia including the central, peripheral and autonomic nervous systems, cardiovascular, respiratory and renal systems. This course is designed to build on a student’s existing knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Lecture Hours: 5 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
