Catalog description
This course focuses on the nursing care of individuals with acute and chronic mental health alterations. Therapeutic communication is used to attain a comprehensive mental status assessment and implement nursing interventions. Critical thinking skills and knowledge of growth and development are used to develop evidence-based care that promotes, maintains, and restores mental health for individuals and their families across the lifespan. Diverse clinical settings and simulated experiences reinforce these concepts. Lecture Hours: 2 Contact Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
