Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce students to the field of music education. Topics will include historical and philosophical foundations of American music education, learning theories with application for the field, basic teaching methods, lesson plan development, forms of assessments, and current trends in the profession. Students will also be familiar with the Georgia Performance Standards for Music Education and the teacher certification requirements from the College of Education. Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
