Catalog description

A survey of the history of western art music from the Classic period (approximately 1750) to the present day. Emphasis is given to the influence of the various philosophical movements in music from the Age of Enlightenment through the 19th and 20th centuries, and the changes in societal attitudes toward music during this period.
