Integration Social and Behavioral Theory into Public Health

Catalog description
Introduces students to the ecologic framework of health behavior by integrating perspectives from anthropology, sociology, and cognitive sciences. Uses a combination of lectures, readings, discussions, and small group exercises to support the premise that effective interventions consider health behaviors at multiple levels: macro level (socio-economic); mezzo level (social networks and social capital) and micro level (influences on rational decision-making). Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
