Catalog description

This is the remediation course for the integrated GI/GU/Endocrine module which is designed to provide the students with an understanding of the normal and abnormal structures and functions of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and endocrine systems along with the scientific basis of pathology and disease states. Patient cases will be utilized to help the students’ gain the knowledge skills needed to develop differential diagnoses, interpret screening and diagnostic studies, and determine therapeutic management plans. This case-based module will include relevant professional, cultural, and biomedical ethical issues, with a focus on evidence based medicine and value-based healthcare. This knowledge is foundational to primary care practice as well as other medical specialties. Contact Hours: 5 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
