An advanced introduction to phonetics and phonology, using data from a variety of languages. Topics include: articulatory phonetics, phonetic transcription, phonological theory, stress and intonation, and acoustic phonetics. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1102 >= C or ENGL 1102H >= C or ENGL 1114H >= C Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
