Catalog description

The practicum is a short-term, field-based experience designed for students with an interest in sports coaching. It emphasizes intentional learning objectives that align with each student’s personal and professional development in coaching and athlete support. Over the course of the semester, students will observe and shadow an experienced coach, gaining practical insight into leadership, communication, training methods, and team management. Each student is required to complete a minimum of 90 hours. This practicum is an important step in fostering students’ interest and skills in coaching by providing valuable real-world exposure and opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in practice.
