Fundamentals of listening, speaking, reading, and writing French in a proficiency-based classroom. Introduction to French-speaking cultures. Designed for students who have never studied French. Not open to native speakers. Heritage speakers and students who had French in high school should take the placement exam. Students must earn a C or better in order to take FREN 1002 .
