Catalog description

This 1-credit course helps ESL (English as a Second Language) speakers improve their oral proficiency skills in English in academic and professional contexts. Topics include linguistic issues such as different sound systems, sound articulation, rhythm, stress, sound change in articulation, intonation, and pragmatic language use. This course does not count towards the MAT or MEd degree. This course does not count toward F-1 visa minimum hour requirements. Lecture Hours: 1 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
