Educational Assessment for Learning

Catalog description
This course prepares the elementary educator to develop appropriate assessments for students in grades Pre-K through five. Topics include but are not limited to formative and summative assessment strategies, assessment of learning vs. assessment for learning, interpreting and using standardized test results, and choosing appropriate assessment tools. Particular focus will be upon assesment results to make instructional decisions. Candidates will also practice communication of assessment results to students, parents, and other educators. Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 2 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
