Catalog description

Designed for candidates seeking initial certification who wish to improve their students’ ability to read, write about, and comprehend subject area materials. Teacher candidates will develop strategies to engage students effectively in reading and writing across content areas. Candidates will develop approaches that emphasize reading and writing as a means to learn. Candidates will also develop strategies to enable students to deal with reading deficiencies and other challenges students may face as reader and writers. Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
