Catalog description

This course will emphasize how the conceptual themes and modes of inquiry represented in the national social studies standards are to be applied when formulating instruction and assessment activities that are appropriate to adolescent students. Special emphasis will be placed on concept formulation, thematic problem solving, strategic learning, complex skill development, and performance assessment. A field experience component is required in a local school setting. Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 2 Contact Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
