Catalog description

Students explore persistent questions about K-12 learner engagement in schools and classrooms. The nature of engagement and its role in meaningful learning are presented. Various challenges to learner engagement are unearthed and studied and solutions sought and applied to teaching contexts. Theoretical models and empirical research inform strategies teachers can use to enrich and enhance learner engagement across K-12 grade levels and content areas for the purpose of creating more satisfying experiences for teachers and their students. Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
