Catalog description
This clinical course focuses on applying the principles in obtaining a health history/medical history for the medically compromised patients and performing a comprehensive soft tissue head and neck examination/oral cancer screening and risk assessment. Students will develop a clinical experience in taking medical history medication history ; learn clinical pharmacology and how patients’ oral health is affected by medications. Develop a medical risk assessment and treatment approach for medically complex patient and learn to develop modifications to dental care tailored to the specific patient’s need based on the medical risk assessment. Lab Hours: 60 Repeatability: May be repeated for credit up to two times.
