Catalog description

This course is a presentation of quantum computing as an emerging computing paradigm based on quantum mechanics. The course acquaints the student with architecture of quantum computing built from quantum gates and circuits, as well as design and performance of quantum algorithms. The course formalizes the concepts of quantum complexity and information and presents quantum algorithms in cryptography and fault-tolerant information processing. Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May be repeated for credit one time.
