Advanced Studies in Extended Reality

Catalog description
A comprehensive exploration of Extended Reality (XR), including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). Students learn foundational concepts, technologies, and the evolution of XR from its theoretical origins to advanced interface design development of XR prototypes. The curriculum also covers critical challenges in XR, such as health, social, privacy, and security issues and human factors that influence usability. Students explore the current research landscape and emerging trends and technologies in XR. The course culminates with a project that applies advanced XR concepts.
