Catalog description

Explores side-channel attacks, a significant threat to computerized systems. Students delve into the theoretical foundations, practical techniques, countermeasures, and real-world applications of side-channel attacks. Through lectures, readings, discussions, presentations, and hands-on projects, students develop a general understanding of the different types of side-channel attacks and familiarize themselves with the principles and methodologies underlying these attacks and strategies for mitigating their impact. Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge: Computer Science background; familiarity with operating systems concepts; familiarity with advanced computer architecture; and proficiency in a programming language, preferably C or C++.
