This course explores the contemporary social problem “hate crime.” Hate and discrimination have long been part of our collective experience, but only recently has the term hate crime emerged to define very specific forms of discrimination that involve criminal acts motivated by bias. This course will seek to examine this emerging social phenomenon. Prerequisite(s): SOCI 1160 >= D Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
