Clinical Mental Health Internship I is a tutorial form of instruction designed to be completed in a counseling facility outside of the university. The internship provides an opportunity for the candidate to perform, within a clinical mental health setting, a variety of professional counseling activities that a regularly employed staff member in the setting would be expected to perform. Students are required to complete two clinically supervised internships of 300 supervised clinical hours each semester across the full academic term for total of 600 hours). At least forty percent (120 hours per semester) of these hours must be direct services with clients. Students are required to lead or co-lead counseling or psychoeducational group by the end of Internship II (COUN 6910/ COUN 6930 ).
