Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Catalog description

This course examines the practice of clinical mental health counseling and explores current issues and approaches in the field. Emphasis is placed on ethical standards and the counselor’s role in supporting positive change. Students will learn how to plan and implement effective counseling programs, gain an understanding of the responsibilities of clinical mental health counselors, and become familiar with the services offered in community agencies and the settings where counseling is provided.
