Catalog description

An introduction to the principles of family systems theory and their applications in family therapy practice. Included are family life cycle development, stages of relationships, premarital assessment, marriage enrichment, intervention strategies, divorce adjustment, and issues such as codependency, single-parent families, and child, spouse, and elderly abuse. Specific techniques for conducting marriage and family therapy will be presented along with considerations of current issues and ethical practices.
