Catalog description
Esports (Electronic Sports) is one of the fastest growing areas of entertainment in the world. This course will explore the television production and history of Esports. The focus of the course is on learning the foundational skills needed to produce a live n Esports event. During the course students will learn to work as a production crew for live Esports competitions within Augusta University’s new Varsity Esports Program. During the semester, students will not only learn about the E-Sports industry, but they will also engage in the production of Esports competitions and gain a deeper insight into the esports ecosystem, which includes a major component of communication. An emphasis will be placed on creative thinking, critical thinking, and teamwork.
