Sports Media Production Practicum

This hybrid course introduces students to exploring the core elements of live sports broadcasting, including on-air presentation, camera operation, audio mixing, live switching, graphics integration, and replay systems. Training will incorporate the use of professional-grade equipment such as Hitachi cameras, the TriCaster video switcher, and NewTek 3Play replay systems. Through immersive, experiential learning, students will develop a strong understanding of industry-standard 2 workflows and technologies, equipping them for careers in sports media and live event production. The course also includes an academic exploration of the history of sports broadcasting, media rights partnerships, and current trends shaping the future of sports coverage.
