Catalog description

Second course in a sequence for science majors. Topics include: solutions, acid-base, colligative properties, equilibrium, electrochemistry, kinetics, and descriptive chemistry. Students may not apply both CHEM 1151 and CHEM 1211 to satisfy the Technology, Mathematics and Sciences or Field of Study areas of Core IMPACTS requirements. Prerequisite includes meeting the departmental standard on the national ACS exam. STEM GPA Eligible Course. Prerequisite(s): ( MATH 1113 >= C or MATH 2011 >= C or MATH 2011H >= C) and CHEM 1211 >= C and CHEM 1211L >= C Corequisite(s): CHEM 1212L and CHEM 1212R Core IMPACTS Requirement(s) Satisfied: Technology, Mathematics, and Sciences (STEM) Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
