Catalog description

First course in a sequence designed for science majors. Topics include: composition of matter, stoichiometry, periodic relations, gas laws, molecular geometry and nomenclature. Students may not apply both CHEM 1151 and CHEM 1211 to satisfy the Technology, Mathematics and Sciences or Field of Study areas of Core IMPACTS requirements. STEM GPA Eligible Course. Prerequisite(s): MATH 1111 >= C or MATH 1113 >= C or MATH 2011 >= C or MATH 2011H >= C Corequisite(s): CHEM 1211L and CHEM 1211R Core IMPACTS Requirement(s) Satisfied: Technology, Mathematics, and Sciences (STEM) Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
