Fundamentals of Aging

As the lifespan and proportion of the global human population of advanced age increase, the need to understand and address the mechanism of the aging process is becoming a major public health priority. Hence, research on aging is growing exponentially. This multidisciplinary graduate course on aging is intended to convey up-to-date developments in the aging field and to prepare the students for a new era of research and targeted clinical interventions. Every class is taught by a Graduate School faculty member with relevant expertise in a given topic. In addition to the usual didactic lecture format, two or more journal-club format classes will discuss and evaluate recent research publications.
