Catalog description

Students use both traditional and modern techniques to produce a series of cast metal sculptural forms. They are introduced to an array of hand/power tools related to the melting, pouring, and refining of bronze and aluminum for fine art casting. In addition, students also work with wax, clay, plaster and various chemical patinas as process materials in producing finished cast artworks. Prerequisite(s): ART 1211 >= C or ART 1520 >= C or ART 1530 >= C Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
