Art History II: Art of the Modern World

Catalog description
This course surveys art and architecture from the Renaissance to the mid-20th century, charting the rise of multiple artistic modernisms. Students will examine how scientific discovery, colonialism, industrialization, and patterns of cultural exchange transformed artistic production and circulation. Special attention is given to the transnational movement of people, objects, and ideas, shaping both continuity and change in the history of art.
