This survey course provides a global perspective on art and architecture from prehistory to the Gothic era, highlighting significant monuments, objects, and visual traditions. Students will consider how materials, techniques, and contexts shape the diverse appearance and function of art across civilizations. Emphasis is placed on understanding the cultures, religions, and philosophical frameworks that shaped the ancient world. Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
