This course is inspired by The Forensics of Sherlock Holmes and explores the evolution of forensic science from the late 19th century to today. Through close reading of selected Sherlock Holmes stories and examination of historical forensic techniques referenced therein, students will investigate the development of crime scene investigation, trace evidence analysis, and death investigation. These topics will be grounded in forensic anthropology, emphasizing human biological evidence and cultural context.
