Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce students to two main aspects of the health care field, the structure considerations and the cultural considerations. Structural considerations include the way that health care is organized, funded and delivered throughout the cultural considerations. Structural considerations include the ways we create meaning of concepts of health and illness and the ways in which different cultures construct notions of what is means to be healthy and sick and how to maintain healthiness. This course may be taken more than once with permission if the culture of geographic focus is significantly different. Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May be repeated for credit.
