Forensic Anthropology Field School

Catalog description

This intensive, hands-on forensic anthropology field school provides students with training in the methods used to locate, document, recover, and analyze human skeletal remains in forensic contexts. Over five weeks, students will learn field recovery techniques, forensic mapping, proper excavation procedures, and evidence documentation through direct experience. Students will work in realistic field simulations, culminating in the excavation and analysis of staged burials. The course emphasizes professional ethics, data recording, and communication of findings in forensic contexts. Other Hours: 3 Contact Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
