Catalog description
This elective course is designed to provide medical students in their third and fourth year of training an immersive experience in the field of Pediatric Anesthesiology. In this elective, students work with Pediatric Anesthesiologist faculty members to evaluate and manage pediatric patients perioperatively. Students are involved with the care of patients from preoperative assessment and preparation, into intraoperative care, and through to postoperative assessments. They gain experience from seeing the care of a wide range of ages and patient conditions - both stable and critically ill. Students have the opportunity to develop insight into the field of pediatric anesthesiology and to create relationships for mentorship and career development. Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
