Catalog description

This course provides the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop, implement, and evaluate programs that improve health outcomes. The course will focus on an interprofessional approach for program evaluation frameworks, including clinical guidelines and standards of care, outcome measures, and variance models for specific patient types. This course is necessary for the student to utilize strategic planning tools to achieve positive changes in health outcomes: to measure the outcomes for quality improvement and patient safety projects; to engage in risk assessment and management; to improve resource utilization and reduce health care costs; and to facilitate interprofessional, macro-system and microsystem organizational changes.
