Catalog description

This course applies advanced economic principles and concepts to health policy issues including the demand and production of health services, health care costs, and healthcare markets. Specific topics include the structure, conduct and performance of private and public health insurance markets, physicians, hospitals, pharmaceutical and long-term care industries. The course also covers advanced economic evaluation methods. This course will focus on applying the lessons learned in ECON 6550 and 6650 in an advanced applied/empirical setting.
