Catalog description

This course familiarizes students with accounting and financial concepts and the application of financial techniques and analytical methods in the planning, controlling and coordinating functions of managers. Having appropriate, timely, and accurate financial information is the cornerstone of a great performance management system. This course will introduce students to the word of corporate finance and number driven financial metrics, enabling them not ju st to build financial reports, but to be capable of conducting a thorough analysis about the financial condition of the firm, explaining how and why results were attained using an analytical and numerical lens of financial reporting. As well, this course w ill illustrate how a Balanced Scored Card is designed and maintained, through analytics about how businesses and organization create, deliver, and appropriate value.
