International Law and Economics

Catalog description

After a brief introduction to the methodology of law and economics, this course utilizes the standard tools of economic analysis for the study of law, legal institutions, and international law as it relates to economics; with special focus on: (i) economics of property;(ii) economics of contracts; (iii) economics of tort law, and (iv) economics of lawmaking. Discussion of the law of treaties, jurisdiction and immunity, human rights, Number Name Credits international economic law, peaceful settlement of disputes, and use of force. Pre- Requisite: ECON 202
