Catalog description

This course is designed to provide students with opportunities to understand the importance of a healthy and safe environment for young children. Issues include infectious disease control, injury and accident prevention, chronic health care conditions and illnesses, child abuse and neglect, and proper meal planning and nutrition. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be awarded certification in Basic First Aid and CPR for infants and young children. Students may also be responsible for additional costs associated with First Aid/CPR certification. Prerequisites: Exit or exemption from Learning Support Reading, English, and Math, and completion of ENGL 1102 with a grade of "C" or better.
