Introduction to Corrections

Catalog description

This course presents an overview of: (a) correctional approaches, with primary emphasis on incarceration; (b) local, state, and federal levels of prison systems; (c) types of prisons; (d) internal structures and procedures for modern prisons and (e) inmate social structures within male and female institutions. Prerequisite: Exit or exemption from Learning Support Reading.
