Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce students to basic medical terminology from an anatomical approach. By understanding words based on its origin, affixes, words parts and combination, special endings, plural forms, abbreviations, symbols, pronunciation, and definition will provide an in depth understanding to the “language of medicine.” A systematic learning approach through derivation and word-building is used to construct and analyze new terms. Emphasis is placed on mastery of word abbreviations, pronunciation, spelling, definition, and usage.
