Language and Literacy

Catalog description

This course develops students' knowledge, skills, and abilities to support young children's literacy acquisition and development from birth through age eight. Topics include developmental continuum of reading and writing, literacy acquisition from birth to five years of age, literacy acquisition in kindergarten, literacy acquisition in primary grades, and literacy acquisition in children who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
