Criminal Justice Externship

Catalog description
This course provides the experiences necessary for further professional development and exposure to related agencies in the criminal justice field. Students will pursue an externship in a related agency supervised by the instructor. Topics include criminal justice theory and applications. This course examines the historical context of the development and functions of, and controversies in, the American court system. Topics include an examination of local, state, and federal court systems; the participants in trials; and courtroom and post-conviction processes. The course provides special emphasis on the rules and procedures relating to Georgia courts. A work ethics grade is assigned for this course. For more information see Work Ethics .
