Catalog description

This course provides students with the experience necessary for professional development and completion of requirements for state licensure. Instructors emphasize the display of professional conduct and positive attitudes. The requirements for this course may be met in a laboratory setting. Topics include permanent waving and relaxers; hair color and bleaching; scalp, and hair treatments; haircutting; dispensary; styling; reception; safety precautions and decontamination; Hazardous Duty Standards Act compliance; and state licensure preparation. Students must pay a $50 supply fee when registering for this course. A work ethic grade is assigned for this course. For more information see Work Ethics .
